shared girls room
when we moved into our new house the upstairs bedroom that would be our daughters room was an eyesore at best - this is what it looked like.
i have no idea what they were thinking when they painted this space. if you cant tell from looking, there is a yellow ceiling, two pink walls, two purple walls, and lots of random paint strips and swishes in the corners. it was a hot mess. before moving in, this room had to be addressed. i have always wanted to paint a colored ceiling in my house and i thought this was the perfect room to do it in. heck, it couldn't look any worse right?
wren wanted pink so she got it! this is how it turned out.

The walls are Porter-Atrium White which is used in multiple rooms of our house. The ceiling is a light pink - Valpsar-Brittany's Bow.
and this is how the room looks now.
Here some girls rooms and shared rooms that are totally adorbs that I cant wait to steal little elements from to continue to sweeten up this space!

Incredible Ikat.
On Friday I made wonderful little programs for Julie. She found my Ikat Invitations on my Etsy store and asked me to use that design to create the Programs for her Violin Recital. She had a lot of information to fit on them considering they are programs rather than invitations so we had to tweak the size and design a bit, but I think they turned out wonderful! She thought she was more of a pink and navy girl than a pink and green girl, so we made that change as well.........:)
For those of you who have not caught up on all the rage of Ikat, straight from Wikipedia!
Ikat, or Ikkat, is the method of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibres. The dye is applied prior to the threads are woven to create the final fabric pattern or design.
Double Ikat is where both warp and the weft are resist-dyed prior to stringing on the loom. Traditionally, and still commonly, a back-strap loom is used, though any variant or modern loom may be used.
Here are other examples of Ikat.

It is that time.
It is that time of year again. We have a beautiful peony bush outside of our office and it is spreading the love! It is great to bring them inside to enjoy them and smell them all day! They are such a beautiful flower with an AMAZING scent.
